Store things as close as possible to where you use them - they are much more likely to get put away that way.
Have a spot near your back door (or 'leaving' door) to put things you need to take with you next time you go out. Hanging a bag on a hook is best because you can just grab it as you leave.
Use the most shallow drawer you can fit your stuff in, or use compartments. Small things + Deep drawer = Junk Drawer!
